This is one of the most original and funny productions I’ve seen in a long, long time. Made for Nickelodeon’s RANDOM CARTOONS shorts program, this Annie nominated short film is slyly satirical as well as subversive. If this does go to series, I’m going to put myself out there and say it has the potential to be as monumental as REN & STIMPY. It’s that different and it’s that good.
Rick DeMott is the managing editor of Animation World Network, who also works as a freelance screenwriter. This blog is a culmination of years of movie reviews from his email newsletter. The hope is that fellow visual storytellers or just fans will find inspiration from the reviews, leading them to films they may have never heard of before or might want to give a second chance. The idea is that anyone can learn at least one thing from any film, even if that film teaches us what does not work. With any luck this blog will create constructive debate about visual storytelling in general or simply lead someone to a great film.
